Eskimo Golf Society

You may well ask, why the “Eskimo” Golf Society? The answer to that is this. The Oblates in Ireland had a fund – raising outing once a year and they called it Eskimo Golf because the Order had become famous for their work with the Eskimos. Even though we were working for a different Oblate mission I thought the name is good enough for us too and so we stuck with the Eskimo Golf Society....MORE

The Eskimo Golf Society has already exceeded the wildest dreams of its founders by raising £210,000.00 for the 'street children' of Latin America. And although 100% of every penny collected goes straight to providing the 'front line' services that give relief and hope, more is needed if this vital work is to continue. With your help we hope to beat last years £20,000 donation presented by Kathy Carrie...

Unicef  estimate that 100 million minors scavenge to survive in cities worldwide, they are persecuted and sometimes even murdered by 'clean up' squads employed by local businesses or the police. We should be proud that the health and education programmes etc. supported with the money we've raised, has made a difference in these slums and shanty towns, not only for the lives saved, but  because these programmes show what can be achieved - and this helps influence greater support from government and non government organisations and international relief agencies - so it is vital that we continue to demonstrate that we have respect and concern for our fellow human beings wherever they live on this planet we share..

We must never forget that we live a relatively secure lifestyle within a community and network of friends and family here  but others elsewhere are not so lucky and barely exist in awful slums and degradation, unloved living in fear hunger and hoplessness every day of their lives. Our fund raising day, now in it's twenty eighth year, is a simple, easy and enjoyable way of supporting this humanitarian appeal to improve their lives - you can't help unless you are asked and neither can anyone else - so please be as generous as you can and pass it on to influence your  own circle of friends - evil exists when good men do nothing - but working together everything is possible and we all gain in the long

The emphasis on all our outings  is always on enjoyment with light-hearted entertainment and an edge of healthy competition.  Whether you are a keen or a social golfer what better way to enjoy a day out entertaining clients or relaxing with friends than at an Eskimo Golf day.

Attending or sponsoring a golf event, donating your time or company products or simply accepting an invitation to join the fun are all great ways to support our aims .. A click on the following
